RONNIE BARKER WATCHES OVER AYLESBURY WATERSIDE THEATRE
A larger-than-life bronze statue of the late comedy legend Ronnie Barker, the Porridge and Two Ronnies star who began his acting career in Aylesbury more than 60 years ago, was yesterday unveiled at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.

As part its Waterside development project and in celebration of the opening of the new theatre in Aylesbury on 12 October 2010, Aylesbury Vale District Council commissioned internationally-acclaimed sculptor Martin Jennings to design the statue. It now takes pride of place in the new public space in Exchange Street Aylesbury. The statue was officially unveiled by Mr Barker’s widow, Joy, who said “He would have been very proud of it. Martin Jennings has done a fantastic job.”

She was joined at the ceremony by some of her husband’s former colleagues including long-time comedy partner Ronnie Corbett and Open All Hours co-star David Jason.

V4 Services has provided client-side programme and project management for the new theatre and were proud to be part of the occasion.

The AMTEC Consortium - which includes V4 Services, the quality, innovation and productivity organisation - is delighted to have secured its place across eight categories of the Government's new Management Consultancy and Accounting Services Framework Agreement, launched recently by Buying Solutions.

The latest award follows last year's success on related ICT frameworks and gives AMTEC a unique opportunity to provide its public sector clients with the broadest possible range of consultancy services and ICT solutions.  Issued by Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services, the three-year framework agreements make it quicker, easier and more convenient for customers to procure the high quality consultancy services they need, while saving them money in the process.

“We’re delighted that the AMTEC Consortium, which brings together 20 leading SMEs, has been appointed on to this framework.  This will enable public sector organisations to take advantage of the expertise, skills and knowledge, through a fully compliant, pre-tendered facility which offers solutions quickly and efficiently”, commented Adam Jacobs, Managing Director of V4 Services.
